Body Awareness

This refers to the body’s ability to ‘know’ or ‘remember’ unconsciously.  To use an example: if a child is bitten by a dog, he or she may have no conscious memory of the event upon reaching adulthood.  Yet the sudden appearance of a dog may cause a temporary paralysis in the area that was bitten, so even though the person does not ‘remember’ the event, a memory has been stored in the body.  Learning to tap into your body’s wisdom opens up access to this hidden information, which can help guide you to greater emotional health.
