Gendlin's Focusing |
Developed by Dr. Eugene Gendlin, focusing is rather like ‘Rogerian Reflection for the Body.’ The counsellor invites the client to notice what they are sensing in their bodies, rather than what they are thinking in their brains. As simple as it sounds, focusing can be very effective as a means to let go of ‘busy brain’ and allow less conscious information to come to consciousness. As Focusing connects people to their ‘inner sense,’ they can experience a shift - away from feeling stuck or confused, and toward the happiness and peace of mind that has been eluding them.
